Since our charter in 1946, our American Legion Post has been welcoming VETERANS from all branches of our Armed Forces. Today, we continue to welcome all military personnel serving our country. Joining our Post enables you to continue serving your God, Country and Community. Our mission is to implement the goals, aspirations, dreams, peace and blessings for our country, friends and families.

To the wonderful patriotic citizens of the Nisswa community.  100% of the monies raised are given back to the community. Help us to continue sponsoring Scholarships for our children; give aid and assistance to our local needy Veterans, and their families. Help us to continue to support financially worthy community programs and projects.

Established in 1946, Billie Brown Post 627 American Legion was named after Billie Brown.

Billie Brown and his brother served in the 194th Tank Battalion in WWII. They were activated and sent to the Philippines before the Japanese invaded. Billie and his brother, along with many fine young men from the Brainerd lakes area, were part of the infamous "Bataan Death March". Billie survived the march but died in Camp Cabanatuan. His brother survived and returned home after the end of World War II.
